Cormorants spotted in Lakes and Rivers

Among the members of Kings Cormorants who have been enjoying some open water swimming this summer, Christine and Susanna had a wild and windy weekend swimming in six of the Western Lakes in the Lake District and

5 Cormorants enjoyed and lovely relaxing swim in the Thames and delicious barbecue kindly provided by Karen's family near Pangbourne.


GB Team Qualifing time for Karen who won her age group at the British Triathlon Championships held in Liverpool on the 14th August.Distances were Swim 1.5km, Bike 40km, Run 10km. Karen said " to prepare I have been training in a wetsuit- Shepperton and Tooting Bec. I had a I have a fantastically competitive bike and run (irrespective of age) but the swim, whilst better I still had 4 min to catch up after 1500m swim on lead pack."


Utku swims across the Bosphorus

For some months now Utku has been training for the Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Race. Organised by the Turkish Olympic Committee it took place on 24th of July.  1,535 swimmers from 49 countries participated in the 6.5 km Race from Kanl%u0131ca on the Asian to Kuruçe%u015Fme Cemil Topuzlu Park on the European side of %u0130stanbul. 362 women and 1173 male swimmers competed. Utku said about the swim "All good, finished in 1:06.34, which puts me 33rd out of 209 in the 40-44 age group for men".
