European Masters in Slovenia

Jane and Christine have been to The 2018 European Masters Championships in Kranj,Slovenia. Having had glorious weather in the days prior to the event we arrived in Kranj to find that they were experiencing heavy rain and even the odd thunderstorm. Undeterred by the conditions they went to register for the event in their protective clothing!!!
Fortunately the weather improved and the racing took pace in the open air 50m pool, whilst warm ups were done in the adjacent indoor 50m pool. Jane competed in the 800, 200, 400, 100 and 50 freestyle, winning gold in each, and beating younger swimmers in her heats. Christine raced the 100, 200 and 50 backstroke, coming 11th, 9th and 9th respectively, with a 2nd and 3rd in her heats for the 50 and 100.

1.9K Swim at Hever Castle - on a baking hot summer's day Susanna and Christine were grateful to be swimming in the cool lake at Hever Castle, Kent. Congratulations to both as they came 1st and 2nd in their age group.

Meanwhile Amanada and Jackie competed at the Barnet Distance Meet - bravo to them for coping with sweltering conditions at the pool! Results.

Surrey Masters 30th June 2018 - our team did well this year - we were 4th overall in the points table , with our women swimmers coming 3rd in the Ladies Points tally! Our relay team placing was 6th overall.

Elizabeth, Penny and Jane, respectively, won Victor Ludorum in their age groups, whilst all of us won at least one or more medals. Next year we should aim for being top team!
